Windows Vista?

Hey all,

I was just wondering
if anyone has tried BBPRO98 on Windows Vista?
Does it work?

I'm quite sure that it doesn't.

If I'm not mistaken it won't work on any windows system that wasn't at least based off of DOS, and I'm pretty sure that Vista doesn't fit that bill.

Hi,
I run 32-bit Vista "Home Premium", and the game does run to a certain extent: You cannot use the 3D features, nor camera options, and when you do play a game, you can complete it, but at the end of the game, it will crash (and, "fast-sim" mode cannot be used either).

I simply use "Windows 95 "Compatibility Mode", run the game, let it crash, re-load it, and it shows my saved box score.

If you wish to play a season, however, I believe you have to enter every game, allow the computer to throw one pitch, close the game, let it crash, re-load, and the completed game will appear. A pain in the neck, I know.

I wish there were a workaround, but I have found no other options.
Hope this helps, somewhat.

Microsoft virtual PC 2007 is free and works like a charm. Runs Baseball Pro 98 without any issues at all.

Yep that is exactly what I used to do to run my simulations.

Hey all

I just bought a Windows 7 desktop and there seems to be even worst problems with using bbpro. This just gets worst each new system......I'm glad I kept my old win98 PC to fastsim on shared screen.
One might think that with all the new technology that Ol' Bill has come up with, he could simply add a patch, work-around, or DOS sim-machine to his newest systems. Problem wth Microsoft virtual PC 2007 is that you MUST have an ORIGINAL WIN 95, 98, or 2000 System CD????? Is this correct?

Thanks

Has anyone tried to use Dos-Box to run this game? I know that the old Tony Larussa games work on it.

DOS box is a DOS emulator that you can use to run some old games and do the install. I used it to play Tony Larussa using it and Rise of the Dragon too. Pretty good software. I think I downloaded it from http://www.abandonia.com/ before.
